Used Luxury Cars | Review of the 2010 Volvo XC90


For 2010 there have been a few changes to the Volvo XC90. The five-passenger seating has been discontinued and is now offered as a seven-passenger only. The trims lines have been changed slightly as well, with three available models and an available R-Design package.

As mentioned, the Volvo XC90 comes in three trim levels the: 3.2AWD, 3.2 AWD Luxury and the V8 AWD Executive. You can also decide on a R-Design package that is available on the 3.2. Engine wise the 3.2-litre V6 engine giving you 235hp, or a 4.4L V8 offering 311hp. Both have electronically-controlled all0wheel drive and they use a six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic.

Features on the 3.2 AWD include: 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, power rear child locks, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist, comfort chassis, speed-sensitive steering, front and rear fog lights, headlight washers, heated mirrors with puddle lamps and integrated turn signals, privacy glass, roof rails, cloth seats, driver's power seat, fold-flat front passenger seat, 40/20/40 split-folding rear seat, integrated second-row centre child booster seat, CD stereo, auto-dimming rearview mirror, compass, cruise control, garage door opener, illuminated vanity mirrors, illuminated locking glove box, floor mats, outside temperature gauge, auto up/down front windows, tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio controls, trip computer, and variable intermittent wipers. Available options for the XC90 3.2 AWD included: Premium Package (upgrades to heated leather seats, sunroof, blind sport information system and rain sensor). The stand alone option is metallic paint.

The 3.2 AWD Luxury adds 18-inch alloy wheels, blind spot information system, mass movement sensor, level sensor, active headlights, power sunroof, heated leather seats, power passenger seat, wood steering wheel, wood accents, rain-sensing wipers, rear headphone outlets, and rear parking assist. Available options are: navigation, rear Rear Entertainment System DVD, premium audio and an upgrade to an in-dash 6-CD system (keep in mind that if you upgrade to the 6-CD you lose the USB port)

The R-Design gives you 19-inch alloy wheels, door handles, wheel arches and mouldings are body colour matching, front and rear skid plates, polished exhaust tips, aluminum accents, and black-faced gauges. For the R-Design stand alone options include: metallic paint, navigation, dual screen rear DVD, premium audio, in-dash 6-CD, rear air conditioning and brushed roof rails.

The V8 AWD Executive builds on the 3.2 AWD Luxury and adds aluminum roof rails, colour-coordinated door handles, wheel arches and mouldings, and premium 12-speaker DynAudio stereo system. Stand alone options include: rear air conditioning, navigation, the dual screen rear DVD system and the upgrade to the in dash 6-CD.
